Description
Partial copy of a small format dictionary of about 1795. Unfortunately lacking the first section of this book up to the letter D. However, it has some very interesting tables at the end of the work, including chronological tables of remarkable events, discoveries and inventions from the dawn of time to the date of publishing and details of the French Revolution. It also has a monthly list of fixed fairs of England and Wales. Fairs in this sense are markets held at various times of the year. Another table is the Universal table of the monies of capital places in Europe, Asia, Africa, America, etc. , with a list of coins in the currencies. Publisher’s brown leather covered boards and spine with front and rear cover detached. Also included is a fold-out map of Europe. The front free end paper has the bookplate of D. Joseph Rogers, with his signature at the top of the page. A very interesting RARE item sold with all faults. We combine shipping on all lots. Single book £5.99 UK, £7.99 Europe, £9.99 ROW.
