Conditions of Sale
Each Chaucer Auctions sale is conducted under the terms announced with that sale. By registering to bid, in person, by commission or online, you accept those terms together with the conditions below.
Buyer’s premium
A buyer’s premium of 20.95% plus VAT is added to the hammer price of each lot. If you bid online there will be an extra charge.
Bidding
We sell on the basis of incremental bidding. Commission bids may be left by post, email or online, and telephone bidding must be arranged before the sale.
Invoicing and payment
Within 24 hours of the sale we send a fully costed invoice including all fees, postage and packing. Payment may be made by PayPal, or by bank transfer, credit or debit card over the phone. There is no charge for paying by PayPal or credit card.
Postage
We post items in-house, worldwide, with postage charged at cost. UK postage starts at £5.99; lots won across multiple auctions can be sent together for a single shipping charge.
Authenticity
All signed items come with a special Certificate of Authenticity bearing a unique code number and a full lifetime money-back guarantee.
