The auction process

Sales generally start at 10am on alternate Fridays and we also have 6pm evening sales. These can be followed live online, where you can watch or join the bidding. We normally sell between 300 and 750 items, including autographs, stamps and coins, along with sports and military memorabilia. We sell at 120 to 140 lots per hour and generally stop after every 300 lots for 10 to 15 minutes.

Within 24 hours of the sale, we send you a fully costed invoice including all fees, postage and packing. You can pay by PayPal, or call our auction house in Folkestone to pay by bank transfer, credit or debit card over the phone.

How can I bid?

1. Commission bids — leave us postal or email commission bids to place on your behalf, or leave commission bids online.
2. Live online — bid live online during the sale.
3. Telephone — bid by telephone, which needs to be arranged before the sale.

We sell on the basis of incremental bidding. For example, an estimate of £10–20 would start at £10 and increase in £2 increments. If you placed a maximum commission bid of £50 and you were the only bidder, you would win the lot at £10. If there were other bidders up to £30, you would be the winning bidder at £32.

Postal charges for winning bids

• UK: £5.99 up to £49.99; £7.95 from £50–£99; £10.99 from £100–£249; £16.95 from £249 upwards. Collections or larger items needing Parcelforce, up to 20kg: £16.95.
• Europe: from £7.99 for small packages, other items charged at cost. Insured packets up to 2kg from £14.99.
• US, Canada, Australia and other non-European countries: from £9.99 for small packages, other items charged at cost. Insured packets up to 2kg from £16.99.
