Through the Woods The English Woodland April to April. By H. E. Bates with 73 engravings on wood by Agnes Miller Parker. Published by Victor Gollancz, London. 1st edition 1936. Publisher’s red boards, titled in gilt. 142 pages. Excellent copy. 8″ x 10½”. The front free end paper bears the signature “R. W. Parker Christmas 1935”. It is thought to be an early copy from the publisher’s received by the illustrator and gifted to her father. It precedes the publication a month or so later.
